What AEGIS is

TRUE TASKING // find and dismantle the network, then make it deniable

THE SEASON ND-S1

A season, not a playlist

Operation Northern Dagger is a sixteen-mission season on the Virolahti border, run roughly in order so the story accumulates. Task Force Spear is a small SOF element under a border-security cover, sent to find and dismantle a deniable foreign network without forcing the public escalation the adversary is fishing for. You start treating the border as a crime problem and end up realizing you have been holding a front line the whole time.

DOCTRINE ND-S2

Restraint is the weapon

This is Sicario meets NATO special reconnaissance: quiet, professional, deliberate, a little cold. A night can be lost without a single friendly down, through compromise, a civilian hurt, a blown cover, or a noisy exfil that hands the enemy a win. You win with positioning, patience, timing, curated kit, and a clean ACRE2 net, not with everyone carrying a launcher and a thermal.

THE ADVERSARY ND-S3

Six rungs to Obsidian

The enemy is an escalation ladder you climb across the season: smugglers, paramilitary border cells, professional sabotage and recon teams, a deniable PMC, and the near-peer armor the whole campaign exists to keep from crossing the seam. Above all of it is the Obsidian Group, the hostile SOF mirror force built to our standard and pointed the other way. You feel which rung you are on in the first exchange of fire.

// Operations

The mission deck

Sixteen hand-built operations, each with its own insert, objective, and exfil, rotating one night to the next. They climb the enemy ladder across three acts toward the finale, Red Snow.

Act One 01-05

A police problem that is not

  • 01 Border Ghost recon and border surveillance
  • 02 Safehouse Knock HVT capture
  • 03 Black Road Convoy convoy interdiction
  • 04 The Signal Farm SIGINT sabotage
  • 05 Downed Raven drone recovery under pressure
Act Two 06-10

Following it up the ladder

  • 06 Checkpoint Wolf QRF and defense
  • 07 Frozen Ledger urban intelligence raid
  • 08 Railcut EOD and sabotage prevention
  • 09 Silent Orchard sniper recon and an HVT decision
  • 10 Glass Tower comms-tower assault
Act Three 11-16

The mirror and the front

  • 11 Iron Guest hostage rescue
  • 12 Quiet Harbor harbor and smuggling raid
  • 13 Pale Horse sensitive cargo recovery
  • 14 Timberline forest search-and-destroy
  • 15 Long Night multi-objective deep raid
  • 16 Red Snow season finale

The team

A night runs eight to fourteen operators across eleven seats: Team Leader, Assistant, RTO and JTAC, Medic, Breacher, Engineer and EOD, Marksman, Automatic Rifleman, UAS Operator, and Pilot, with a Zeus running the night from above.

Find and finish

Shadow and Reaper for ISR, loitering munitions and FPV for the close fight, and JTAC-lased A-10 and F/A-18 close air support. ACE medical, land navigation, and a whitelisted kit make every choice cost something.

Home base

A rear-area staging base is the home you return to: draw a curated kit, run ACE medical and ACRE checks, zero weapons, rehearse the breach, then step off into the night.

// Forward bases

Take and hold the front

Alongside the scripted operations, the forward bases on the map are ground you fight over and keep. Claim them, make them yours, and defend them against an enemy that comes to take them back.

FORWARD BASES F-1

Claim it

A network of forward operating bases sits across the area of operations. Take one by clear-and-hold: empty the zone of every enemy, then hold it with an operator present until the timer flips it to AEGIS.

FORWARD BASES F-2

Make it a foothold

Every base you hold becomes a forward spawn and a staging point, ground that carries from one night to the next instead of resetting with the mission.

FORWARD BASES F-3

They come to take it back

The enemy never concedes. It grabs neutral bases, reinforces the ones it holds, and musters at hidden staging areas to march on yours in escalating waves.

FORWARD BASES F-4

Hold or lose it

Repel the assault and the base stays yours. Get pushed off and it flips back, forward spawn and all. The ground is only yours for as long as you can hold it.

Stand up with Task Force Spear

AEGIS Intelligence Group runs for players who treat restraint, clean comms, and deliberate tactics as the point, not the overhead. No rigid schedule, no PvP: drop in, slot a role, and hold a front line on Virolahti against an enemy that pushes back on its own timetable. Register with the unit on the official Arma 3 units page to deploy under Northern Dagger.

// The bar

  • ACRE2 net discipline. The radio is an instrument, not a chatroom.
  • No lone-wolfing. You move, clear, and fight as a team.
  • Restraint over firepower. A loud win can still be a lost night.
  • Eighteen plus. Main operations are slotted in advance.
